The Green Room

The Green Room Visit our Studio Website at www.greenroompianovoice.com But within The Green Room, we have a different philosophy. We're exceptionally proud of that.

The Green Room offers individual instruction in guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, music theory, and sightreading for children through adults. During lessons technique, music theory, ear-training, sight-reading, and musical interpretation are emphasized. Private studios sometimes promote an atmosphere of competition between students, hoping to prepare students for a "dog-eat-dog" world. Certainly Green Room students attend countless auditions and competitions, and our students' success stories prove that Green Room students do very well in the "real world." Green Room students consistently place high at adjudicated festivals and competitions, earn leading roles in shows, and frequently receive solos wherever they choose to sing or play. But we believe that each student has his or her own unique musical gift to develop. We believe it will develop better in an atmosphere that promotes cooperation, support, and growth. Green Room students develop a special bond through their mutual respect for each others' talents and confidently support each other in every endeavor.

Another Gold Cup recipient this year was Liza who received her first cup in music theory! Last week Liza finished her time (for now) in The Green Room with her last lesson and this week she is off for her freshman year of college at DePaul University in Chicago. Congratulations, Liza! I will miss you so much and can't wait to see you soar as you continue your journey! 🏆🎹🎵

Big congratulations to Avery for earning her THIRD NFMC Gold Cup in piano solo! This means she has earned Superior ratings at festival for 9 consecutive years! She also earned her first cup this year in Musical Theater. Avery has recently begun volunteering her time playing piano at a local nursing home and I couldn't be more proud of her hard work and dedication. Bravo, Avery, and Congrats!! 🎶🎹🎵

On Sunday evening we attended Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis to hear Kaitlyn play the Great Cathedral Organ! (Video in comments!!) She has served as the Cathedral Organ Scholar for the last two years and it has been such an amazing experience for her. Learning to play the organ on one of the best organs in the world has been incredible for her. So proud of you, Kaitlyn! I will miss you so much as you fly off on your new college journey! 🎶🎹🎵

First up to receive her NFMC gold cup is McKenna! She couldn't have been more excited to receive her first gold cup in piano solo in her lesson today. McKenna works hard as a pianist and singer and is on track to fill up her shelves with more cups in years to come in piano, vocal music, and music theory! Congrats, McKenna! 🎵 🎹 🎶

Federation cups are here! I can't wait to pass these out and reward all of these amazing students for their hard work! 🏆 🎶 🎹 Most of this year's trophies are first cups for three years of superior scores...but we also have a second cup (6 years) and a third cup (9 years!) Plus we have one student who continued lessons and festival after turning 18 years old and has now received her first silver cup!
