Fit Fresh is getting a little more plant-powered. 🌱

We've been wanting to expand our vegan options, and rather than pretending we know everything there is to know about vegan meats, we decided to do something smarter: Partner with people who do.

Enter our friends at 👋

They're a local, family-owned vegan deli right here in Columbus, and we're teaming up with them to bring even more vegan options to the Fit Fresh menu.

Because if we're going to offer it, it still has to pass the most important Fit Fresh test: Does it taste really freaking good?

More options. More variety. More local businesses working together. And apparently, more photos of Jon proudly holding bags of vegan meat. 😂

First full day in France. St Emillion, Bordeaux. Lunch at Logis de la Cadène , dinner at PAPIN Restaurant Bordeaux✨ . So many incredible flavor combinations, excellent technical ex*****on, and ingredients I have only read about and never tasted. The ideas are already flowing, can't wait to bring these ideas back to yall and transform them into delicious menu items. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for letting us cook for you. We wouldn't be able to enjoy and explore these amazing places and cultures without you.

Ps: sourcing locally is built in to the culture here, and is a huge part of why everything tastes so amazing. Beyond thankful for our hard working and brilliant farmers at Bluescreek Farm Meats Three Creeks Produce Lynd Fruit Farm and more for allowing us the same privilege. Hopefully King Family Poultry joins them soon!

We spend a probably unreasonable amount of time thinking about food around here. 😂

Ingredients. Recipes. Nutrition. Where things come from. How we can make something better. Whether we can get our hands on a better tomato. You get the idea.

But underneath all that overthinking are a few pretty simple rules:
Buy really good ingredients. Source locally whenever we can. Keep learning. Don't cut corners just because it's easier. And make the best damn food we know how to make.

Not “pretty good for meal prep.” Really good food. Period.

Convenience shouldn't mean settling for food you aren't excited to eat. We want the value to be right there when you open the package. Great ingredients. Thoughtful recipes. Food we're proud to serve.

This week’s Fit Fresh menu is looking GOOD. 👀

Here’s some of what we’re cooking up:
🥩 Braised LOCAL Beef (raised on a farm in Marysville, butchered in Plain City!) Ragu with LOCALLY-MADE FRESH ziti from Pasta Ditoni, local squash, onions & peppers
🔥 Buffalo Ranch Chicken Thighs with roast potatoes & Green Beans
🌮 Chicken Fajitas with made-from-scratch fajita sauce using homegrown & local produce, salsa rice & local fajita veggies
🍛 Homegrown & Local made-from-scratch Panang Curry Chicken with jasmine rice, sesame veggies
🌶️ Andouille, Chorizo & Chicken Jambalaya with local peppers, purple okra, celery & onions

And yes - we’re continuing to take advantage of all that incredible local produce while it’s in season. 💚

Ever wonder where some of your Fit Fresh ingredients come from? 🌽👀
A couple weeks ago, Jon took us along on one of his trips to Witten Farm Market on Wi******er Pike to pick up produce for that week's meals - yellow squash, zucchini, sweet corn, candy onions, jalapeños and even some Colorado peaches. 🍑
The menu has changed since this was filmed (because Jon will absolutely notice if we don't tell you that 😂), but the way we source hasn't.
We buy local and seasonal whenever we can because we care about what goes into your meals - and we like knowing the people and places behind the ingredients.
Local when we can. Quality always. 💚

Hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! 💚

We wanted to take a minute to give a little extra love to the people who make Fit Fresh happen.

From prepping and cooking to packing orders and getting meals where they need to go, there’s a whole team behind every Fit Fresh meal.

We’re incredibly lucky to have people who care about the food we make and the people we’re making it for.

We hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the long weekend, spend some time with their people, and maybe let someone else handle the cooking for a change. 😉
