Love to see my doing the things they love! This weekend I got to see several Highland HS students and an Edwardsville HS student perform in the Tiger Ambush Marching Band Competition. These kids put in so much hard work and they should be so proud!!!

Devin is a local Edwardsville kid that I was in choir with, trust me you don't want to miss this!

Opera Edwardsville does Broadway, with one of Edwardsville’s own.

Many in our community will remember Devin Archer for the remarkable performances he gave as a student at Edwardsville High School, including his star turn as Jean Valjean in the 2006 EHS production of Les Misérables. Since then, Devin has gone on to build an exciting national career in musical theater, including joining the U.S. national tour of Les Misérables as Enjolras.

Now, Devin returns home to perform musical theater favorites from across his career in a free summer concert with Opera Edwardsville. A Northwestern University graduate and Actors’ Equity artist, Devin has appeared in major Broadway national tours, leading regional theater roles, and principal musical-theater appearances across the country.

Bring your friends, pack a picnic, and join us for a one-hour concert celebrating Broadway, hometown talent, and a remarkable artist whose career reflects the extraordinary talent that has emerged from our community.

Some students leave your studio with stronger high notes.

Some leave with confidence to speak in class.
To audition.
To make friends.
To take up space.
To say yes...or no.

Some leave knowing how to handle nerves.
How to practice something difficult.
How to keep going after mistakes.
How to breathe through hard moments.

Some leave with memories of singing with you after a difficult school day.
Some leave remembering that your studio was the one place they felt safe to be fully themselves.

Voice lessons were never just about singing.

And even if a student only stays for one season, they carry pieces of your teaching with them for the rest of their lives. 💗💗💗

Congratulations everyone on your beautiful performances! Everyone should be so proud. It was really wonderful. I am so grateful for all your work and for sharing your voices with our audience today.
