Lemon Week may be over, but the learning (and fun!) is still shining bright! 🍋✨
This week, the kids explored so many amazing skills through our lemon-themed activities:
🍋 Sensory Exploration – Feeling, smelling, and even tasting lemons helped engage their senses and curiosity.
🍋 Science Discovery – We learned about sour vs. sweet, how lemons grow, and even did fun little experiments!
🍋 Fine Motor Skills – Squeezing lemons, painting, and hands-on activities helped strengthen those little hands.
🍋 Math & Counting – Counting lemons, sorting by size, and simple measuring made learning fun and interactive.
🍋 Language Development – Describing textures, tastes, and experiences helped build new vocabulary.
🍋 Creativity – From art projects to imaginative play, the kids turned lemons into masterpieces! 🎨
It’s amazing how something as simple as a lemon can turn into a full week of learning, laughter, and memories. 💛

💜 What We Made at School Today 💜

Today, the children had so much fun making a delicious lemon cake! 🍋🎂

As we baked together, we talked about the different ingredients that go into making a cake and what each one does. The children practiced important early learning skills by helping measure ingredients, counting scoops, and following directions step by step.

This hands-on activity gave the children an opportunity to build their math, language, and fine motor skills while having fun in the kitchen. They were excited to watch all the ingredients come together and even more excited to enjoy the finished lemon cake!

Be sure to ask your little one about their favorite part of making the lemon cake today! 💜

🍋 Learning is Sweet at Our Lemonade Stand! 🍋
This hands-on setup is more than just fun—it’s full of meaningful learning opportunities for our little learners! 💛
Through play, children are exploring:
✨ Math skills – counting lemons, pouring, measuring, and learning about more/less
✨ Social skills – taking turns, role-playing, and practicing communication as they “order” and “serve”
✨ Language development – using new vocabulary like “menu,” “ingredients,” and “customer”
✨ Fine motor skills – pouring, scooping, and handling small items like cups and play food
✨ Imagination & creativity – creating their own lemonade stand stories and experiences
This dramatic play area brings learning to life in the sweetest way! Watching their confidence grow as they explore, pretend, and interact is truly the best part. 💕

Fine Motor Fun with Paper Cutting ✂️

Today we worked on our fine motor skills by practicing paper cutting making flowers. The children used child-safe scissors to cut along lines and shapes on paper . This activity helps strengthen little hand muscles, improve hand-eye coordination, and build confidence with scissor skills. 💪😊

Not only was it a great learning experience, but the kids also had so much fun creating and exploring! We love watching their skills grow through hands-on activities every day. 💜

This week we’ve been diving into the magical world of caterpillars and butterflies 🐛🦋
Through hands-on learning, our little ones are discovering the beauty of change and growth. Watching a tiny caterpillar transform into a butterfly has sparked so much curiosity, excitement, and wonder in our classroom!
We are learning all about life cycles, practicing patience as we wait for each stage, and building our observation skills by noticing even the smallest changes each day. The children are asking amazing questions, exploring nature, and developing a deeper understanding of how living things grow and change.
Moments like these remind us how powerful simple experiences can be. Learning is happening through wonder, care, and discovery—and we are loving every minute of it 💛

This week, we are exploring weather, and today’s focus is all about clouds. We will be learning what clouds are, how they form, and the different types we might see in the sky. The children will also enjoy fun activities like observing the sky, creating cloud art, and talking about what clouds look like.
