Hey parents! It’s that time of year - if the weather is nice, we will likely be spending the period outside making art in the sunshine.

On art days, your kids will likely be drawing with chalk. While it’s completely washable, if you have an outfit you don’t want your child getting dirty, please don’t send them to school in it on art days. We do our best to stay clean, but chalk is messy!

The art room is still collecting large boxes and large pieces of clean cardboard for Jr. High’s 3D buildings. Please contact Miss Schaffter or drop cardboard off in the main office!

It’s that time of year! Jr high students have begun the planning process for their 3D buildings🏢. That means we are in need of large pieces of cardboard!

If you have large pieces of clean cardboard that you are able to donate, please contact Miss Schaffter. We will be collecting cardboard until Friday, 2/20.

The art room is in need of sealable containers for paint. Examples include Cool Whip and butter containers, large yogurt containers, etc. These need to have working lids with them! If you have any to donate, please drop the off at the main office or contact Miss Schaffter.

We recently received a heartfelt message from Bobby Woodart, Executive Director of Military Christian Mission, and we wanted to proudly share it with all of you.

Bobby shared how their mission supports military families around the world by sending handmade wooden ornaments to bases across the globe. For the past two years, he has partnered with our own art teacher from Edon, Ms. Schaffter, and her talented students, who have helped paint these ornaments with care and creativity.

Their beautifully painted ornaments were sent to Langley Air Force Base and the USO Sasebo in Japan, where they are now bringing joy to military families far from home.

We are incredibly proud of the impact you are all making around the world!

The art room is looking for tissue/Kleenex boxes of all shapes and sizes for an upcoming project. If you are able to save your empty boxes, please drop them off to the main office, or contact Miss Schaffter. Thank you for your support!!

Attention K-4 parents:

Your students will be bringing home a packet about the Disguise a Turkey event we are doing. This event is not required, but is a fun way to do a craft at home with your kiddos. Using household materials, disguise the provided turkey as something or someone else to avoid being caught for Thanksgiving dinner! Return the completed turkeys to school by Friday, November 21st to have them displayed in the main hallway. There might even be a prize involved for the most creative disguises!
