Hi Seniors,

Just letting you know that we have a University of Michigan representative coming next Wednesday, the 14th, at 9am. If you are interested in attending to learn more about UofM sign up is in my office in the library.

October is college month! Many colleges waive their application fee during this month and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open as of the 1st of the month. Colleges and Universities will want your FAFSA so they can produce a financial aid package for you, so you know what you are awarded in grants, scholarships, and what loans are available to you.

Additionally, I know some of you have mentioned to me that you will be in attendance, but as a reminder, tonight is also a FAFSA night in the media lab after school until ~6:30 p.m., where MCC will be present with me to assist in completing the FAFSA. I look forward to seeing some of you, and don't worry if you can't make it tonight; there will be other nights in the future!

As an incentive to complete the FAFSA and some college applications, I will be doing a giveaway that ends on the 31st of this month. What you have to do to gain entries:
1. Complete your FAFSA and show me your confirmation email to get an entry
2. Apply to 2 colleges/universities and show me your confirmation emails to get an entry
3. Every college you apply to after the first 2, and you show me your confirmation emails, gains you additional entries.

Giveaway prizes include an Owala Water Bottle and a Micro Fridge. Winners will be drawn on the 2nd of November.

Again, I look forward to seeing some of you tonight and to seeing your confirmation emails to get you those entries!

The Mustangs had a great day this past weekend at the Shepherd Bluejay Invite! We had 10 personal records, and two runners finished in the top 40 to earn medals.

On the boys' side, Callen Eldred finished 24th, earning a medal and setting a new best by over 45 seconds. Kenneth Graham finished next in 103rd with a new personal best by 16 seconds. Lucas Rodriguez came in 134th, setting a new PR by almost 40 seconds, followed closely by Joe Silverthorn in 142nd with a 48-second PR. Colton Eldred finished 149th with a new personal record by 4 seconds. James Rodriguez finished in 169th, Michael Ockert in 203rd, and Mateo San Jose Diaz rounded out the pack in 208th.

On the girls' side, Ryann Ball finished 23rd, earning a medal and setting a new PR by less than a second. Brooklyn Porter and Saralynn Shelley finished 52nd and 53rd, respectively—Brooklyn earned a new PR by almost 30 seconds, and Sara cut 6 seconds off her best. Katie Shick rounded out the team in 140th, setting a new PR by 41 seconds.

The Mustangs are at it again this Wednesday for their second MSAC meet at St. Charles!
