Feel Good Fridays.....check out the "sorting" of our 5th Graders with new teacher, Alexa Bourne. The first week of instruction is coming to an end, a week of introductions, welcome backs and setting routines. Teachers are experts at setting the stage for success, whether it's a traditional "meet and greet" ...or being put through the "sorting hat". Here are just a few of her house sorted kids. Chartwells K12 menus have gone digital! This is a great feature that allows you to see nutrition facts and allergens. Menus can be found on our website by clicking on the "Menus" button. Attached is a flyer with instructions for navigating the new system.

We would also like to thank Lisa Hicks and Chartwells for providing all of the food and treats for our open house last week! It was so nice to see all of our Mustangs!

It's Mustang Monday....one day away from the first day of school. Thank you to everyone who came to the Open House last week, and to the Montabella Board of Education and Superintendent Alvesteffer, who served up hundreds of hot dogs and refreshments to welcome our Mustang family back.

We are so excited to fill our halls with our Mustangs on Tuesday! As we have always done in the past, we like to take back-to-school pictures throughout the day to post to social media, the outside digital board, or the Mustang News. If you have not done so already, please take a moment to complete your FinalForms so we know who may be posted on public platforms. To err on the side of caution, students with incomplete forms will not be posted on social media, the digital board, or Mustang News throughout the year - this includes student of the month posts.

New for 2026-2027! Each Friday we will be highlighting something positive at Montabella Community Schools with our "Feel Good Fridays" posts. Here is the first:

Montabella staff engaged in professional learning focused on Literacy and Dyslexia. Our teams were engaged in learning and spent the day building their understanding of how to better support literacy development, learning about the characteristics of dyslexia, and deepening their knowledge of the Science of Reading.

It was exciting to see our staff leaning into this learning with such enthusiasm and a shared commitment to helping every student become a successful reader. We are proud of their dedication and willingness to continue growing their practice for the benefit of our students and are fortunate to have such a committed team at Montabella Community Schools.

Tonight is a great night to meet your new Superintendent, Andrew Alvesteffer, as the annual Montabella Community Schools Open House will be from 4:30-6pm. Rumor has it he may be serving hot dogs in the Jr/Sr High Cafeteria...so make sure to stop by to say hello and introduce yourself. Plus...he lives in the district boundaries, so expect to see him beyond just the school doors!
