Kyaze Emmanuel: Building a brighter future
Before joining the savings group, Emmanuel was struggling because his income was low, he had no savings or access to loans, and none of his children could attend school. He wasn't sure how he would provide for his family.
Everything began to turn around when Emmanuel's neighbor encouraged him to join a HEED savings group. He was able to save small amounts regularly, access small loans, and learn new skills. He started a poultry business, improved his farm, and increased his income. Today, he serves as the group's vice chairman. His children are back in school, giving them opportunities Emmanuel once feared they would never have. His family is thriving and he has been blessed with a grandchild. He has found hope and stability.
“God commands us to love each other as Christ loved us. Through the interactions we have during our savings group meetings, I have learned that forgiveness is the pillar of love. I have better relationships with my community. We have been united regardless of our religious differences. I am so grateful to the HEED organization, all the partners, the teachers they send to us, and above all, God. God bless you all”. -Kyaze Emmanuel
