Our outdoor learning environment just received a major upgrade! This week, our Toddlers celebrated the arrival of a brand-new sandbox, while our older explorers discovered a fresh collection of gems, bones, and fossils hidden in theirs.
While it looks like a day of play, these young scientists are hard at work on complex developmental milestones:
Early Physics & Math: By filling, pouring, and molding, the children are investigating concepts like volume, capacity, and density.
Spatial Awareness: Navigating the sand and organizing their "dig sites" helps them understand how objects occupy space.
Fine Motor Precision: Using tools to uncover delicate fossils hones the hand-eye coordination needed for future writing.
Whether theyβre uncovering "ancient" remains or mastering the art of the sandcastle, our kiddos are building the foundations for a lifetime of curiosity. Who knows? We might just have some future paleontologists and geologists in our midst!
