UCO Announces 2025 Truman Scholarship Student Nominees University of Central Oklahoma students Elena Wright and Lillie Taylor have been selected as finalists for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship.

UCO Earns Elevated National Designation as a Research University The University of Central Oklahoma recently received the Research Colleges and Universities (RCU) designation in the 2025 Research Activity Designations published by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The submission deadline for the UCO Liberal Arts Student Symposium has been extended to Friday, Feb. 28! Any UCO student currently enrolled in a liberal arts course can submit their their writing, research, and/or creative activities.

Symposium Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Extended Submission Deadline: Friday, Feb. 28, 2025

Individual submissions are usually 15 minutes, and are organized into groups of three, for a 50-minutes “panel” with a faculty moderator. A group of students may also submit a panel proposal.

There are five categories for individuals to share their research:
• Paper
• Presentation
• Roundtable Discussion
• Poster or Object
• Video

Classes in the College of Liberal Arts are cancelled during the event to allow students to participate and attend.

Don't forget, the 2025-2026 RCSA Grant application is due February 26!

Open to all University of Central Oklahoma students across all majors and disciplines.

Grant includes:
$500 for research materials or travel, a partial tuition fee waiver each semester, and a paid RA position on campus to create your project.
