You know her! You love her! Give a big congratulations to Dr. Sara Doolittle on the publication of her new book, We Fought Back: The Black Legal Struggle for Education in Oklahoma Territory.

The book examines previously unexplored legal challenges to school segregation in Oklahoma Territory and highlights how Black residents fought for educational equity decades before Brown v. Board of Education.

Dr. Doolittle will discuss her research during a free author talk and book signing at the Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library in Guthrie on Wednesday, September 2, at 6 p.m.

Join us in celebrating this important contribution to the history of education, law and civil rights.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new UCO College of Education and Professional Studies Student Ambassador Program!

To be eligible to apply for the CEPS Ambassador Program, students must:
- Have a desire to advance the college's mission;
- Be a declared undergraduate CEPS major;
- Have a minimum retention GPA of 3.00;
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 while in the program;
- Have completed at least one (1) full semester* at UCO;
- Be enrolled full-time (a minimum of 12 hours);
- Have at least two full semesters remaining before graduating;
- Have a willingness to serve for two consecutive semesters;
- Participate in on- and off-campus recruitment activities and events;
- Submit a 300–500-word essay; and,
- Have at least one letter of recommendation from a UCO faculty or staff member.
- *At least 12 credit hours completed in the fall or spring semester before application.
