Each year, Chief Information Officer Dr. Scott Haselwood leads a cohort of teachers interested in learning more about instructional technology. We appreciate these educators (and the many not pictured) for their willingness to enhance the use of technology in our schools and classrooms!

Three of our teachers represented Deer Creek at this year’s Oklahoma AI Symposium! They spent dedicated time “building the future of AI-ready education in Oklahoma — from policy to classroom, in a single, durable model.” We appreciate their willingness to spend time over the summer contributing to the profession of education!

Today is election day! Elections influence the future of Oklahoma public education for our students, so we hope you will use your voice at the ballot box. This election is the first step for selecting Oklahoma’s next governor, state school superintendent, attorney general, and many other congressional, state, and local positions.

Deer Creek Elementary was recognized as a PLC at Work Model School this year!

This recognition highlights what we already know to be true. The DCES team works together to analyze student learning, share strategies, and take collective responsibility for every student’s success. Through this ongoing cycle of teamwork and continuous improvement, they strengthen instruction and create meaningful results for students every day.

Before school let out, students at Knight Ridge Elementary participated in a mock crime scene investigation involving damaged library books, evidence collection and suspect lists. Through the activity, students discussed the importance of properly caring for and preventing damage to library books they check out.
