"We were prepared to pay for 8-12 private tutoring sessions but Randy did not think he would need that many. He recommended only 6 sessions (2 for reading, 2 for science, and 2 for English. He had scored well on math and did not need tutoring for that subject).

We never dreamed that he would increase his scores as much as he did after just six sessions.

Science increased by 6 points (28 to 34)
English increased by 5 points (30 to 35)
Reading increased by 3 points (32 to 35)"

Our Story

We tutor ACT to small groups of students (5-10 students in each group), and we meet throughout the Oklahoma City metro. Each group meets for 8 hours in total. We spend the majority of our time instructing the groups on the key principles each student needs to master, and we allot a small amount of time for guided practice. After each session, we assign 20-30 minutes of homework, which entails completing the practice passages we did not review during the week. We review each student's homework so that we k know what he/she is struggling with and how to best address each subject going forward. We employ guided practice, coaching each student and talking through why the correct answer is the correct anwer and why someone might gravitate toward the wrong answer. Again, we spend time reviewing the answers each student gives in order to better coach to his/her specific struggles. The eight-hour course is $400, and the group size is limited to 10 students.
