Our process has each project being visited by three different judges, who are educators or in a science or engineering field. They will ask questions and have the students explain their projects to them. These scores are averaged to determine the final project score. When students have been visited by all three judges they can leave the judging room and go see some science demonstrations and activities until it is time for award presentation. Our timeline varies with the number of projects each year.
Can we come to the Oklahoma Homeschool Science and Engineering Fair just to see the projects/ support our friend/see if we want to do it next year?
No, the Science and Engineering Fair is not open to the public. It is similar to a scholastic meet and intended for the students to present their projects to the judges and the other students with projects. Parents and siblings can attend but may not be in the room during judging.
