Mrs. Tipton, our 5th-grade teacher, started teaching her students how to play chess during the last week of school 24 years ago, and she has continued that tradition at Oakdale ever since. โ๏ธ
Students absolutely LOVE it! It is amazing to watch them go from knowing very little about chess to becoming strategic thinkers in just a few days. Through the game, students learn patience, problem-solving, planning, and critical thinking skills that will benefit them far beyond the chessboard.
Thank you, Mrs. Tipton, for continuing this special tradition and creating meaningful learning experiences that students remember for years to come! ๐๐โ๏ธ

Our Pre-K graduates took the stage and celebrated a very special milestone as they completed their first step in their educational journey. From learning letters and numbers to building friendships, confidence, and a love for learning, these students have grown so much this year!
The smiles, songs, and proud moments shared during graduation reminded us just how bright their futures are. We are so proud of every one of these young Rockets and cannot wait to see all they accomplish as they head to kindergarten! ๐๐
A special thank you to our amazing Pre-K teachers and families for helping nurture, encourage, and support these students throughout the year. The seed has been planted, and we know great things are ahead! ๐ผ๐โจ Congratulations, Pre-K Class of 2026! ๐๐๐

A total of 36 students in 6th-8th grade and 18 fifth graders qualified for the celebration during their lunch times. Middle school students enjoyed their outing last Monday, and the fifth graders celebrated today. Students enjoyed pizza, salad, noodles, dessert, and even had time to have fun in the arcade! ๐ฎ๐ช๐ฅ
A huge thank you to Mrs. Jones, our middle school librarian, for the incredible work she does encouraging a love of reading at Oakdale. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping students discover great books continue to inspire students year after year. Opportunities like this are just one example of how she goes above and beyond to make reading exciting and rewarding for our students. ๐
Thank you to OSF for helping make this memorable experience possible for our readers!

Kindergarteners are glowing it up thanks to the โSpecial Days Grantโ funded by OSF! โจ๐
Each kindergarten class spent the day reviewing important skills from last semester, and OSF helped make learning extra fun with glow sticks, black lights, vests, hats, balloons, and glowing decorations. ๐ก๐ชฉ๐๐
What a fun memory and creative way to make learning shine in a bright way! Way to go, kindergarten teachers and OSF, for creating such an exciting experience for our students! ๐๐

Our third graders did a spectacular job on their Wax Museum presentations! Each student selected a famous person, researched their life and accomplishments, and prepared a short speech to share with visitors.
Guests visiting the museum had to press the red button on each studentโs display to hear the โwax figureโ come to life and speak. The students truly impressed everyone with their creativity, knowledge, and presentation skills.
Way to go, third graders! What a fun and memorable way to bring history to life for both the students and all the visitors to the museum. ๐๐

These kindergartners had a blast with Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Hare on their OSF Kids Auction outing! From playtime at Whispering Heights Park in Edmond to sweet treats at Braumโs, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and fun memories made together.
These special outings create lasting memories for our students and are another example of why OSF helps foster these kinds of experiences for Oakdale students. ๐๐

Oakdale students showed what it truly means to serve others this year through their support of Friends of Jimmy Everest, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families navigate the difficult journey of childhood cancer. The organization works to support families, build connections, raise awareness, spread hope, and make a difference in the lives of children and their loved ones during challenging times.
Thank you to Theresa Green for coming to speak to our Builders Club about the organization, upcoming events, and what Friends of Jimmy Everest is all about. Hearing firsthand about the impact this nonprofit has on families made the students even more passionate about supporting the cause.
Through concessions, dances, lunch treats, halftime activities, and many other efforts throughout the year, Oakdale Builders Club worked hard to raise funds to support this important mission. Their dedication and compassion resulted in an amazing donation of $3,202 for Friends of Jimmy Everest.
Way to go, students and sponsors, for your hard work, servant hearts, and passion for helping others! Your efforts are making a difference for children and families who need support the most. ๐๐

๐ญโ๏ธ We hope everyone is enjoying a โHot Diggity Dogโ kind of Memorial Day holiday as much as we enjoyed ours on the last day of school! ๐บ๐ธ๐
Our amazing cafeteria staff, led by Ms. Malisa and crew, made the final lunch of the school year extra special for students and teachers. Students enjoyed grilled hot dogs and homemade cookies โ even students who brought lunchboxes got a sweet treat! ๐ชโค๏ธ
Teachers were also spoiled with delicious grilled burgers prepared by our very own Todd Thomas, facilities manager, using beef from his R&R Ranch. ๐๐
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the last day memorable and full of Rocket spirit! ๐โค๏ธ
