Connecting alumni, past students and friends of OCA. Each year the school added a grade level until 1992-93 when we graduated the first senior class.

OCA History

In the spring of 1987, several Christian families had a dream to open a private Christian school in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. As a result of this dream, Oklahoma Christian Academy was established in the fall of 1987 housing grades Pre-school through seventh grade. In the first year of operation, the school was housed in four different locations. The Pre-school and Kindergar

ten classes were located at the Edmond Church of Christ. The Oakcrest Church of Christ was home to one Kindergarten class, and the Northwest Church of Christ housed 1st-6th grades. Also, the College Campus Church of Christ (now known as the Memorial Road Church of Christ) housed 1st-6th grades and the Junior High School. In 1988, the school consolidated to two locations—The Edmond Church of Christ and the Memorial Road Church of Christ. Early on, OCA received accreditation from the Oklahoma State Department of Education for grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. In 1997, OCA received accreditation from the National Christian School Association (NCSA). In 2002, OCA elected to drop direct accreditation from the state department in order to receive accreditation from the Oklahoma Private School Accreditation Commission (OPSAC) through NCSA. Also, in 2002, OCA attained North Central Accreditation through NCSA. As the school continued to grow, it was evident that more space and a self-operating campus were needed. In the fall of 1999, construction on a gymnasium was begun, and in the summer of 2000 renovation was begun at the Edmond location. In October of 2000, the gym was ready to be occupied. In 2001, the school purchased the Edmond Church of Christ building. As a result, OCA’s dream of having our own campus was realized, and in August of 2001, for the first time in the school’s history, all grades (Pre-school through 12th grade) were located at one site. Its own Board of Directors governs OCA. Since opening in 1987, OCA has grown and currently serves over 275 students. OCA offers a Christian approach to our children’s learning environment. We encourage spiritual growth and strive to train Christian leaders. The academic curriculum of OCA is designed to prepare students for any college or university.

OCA ALUMNI: Join us Friday, Nov. 14, from 5-6p in the parking lot north of the gym for an Alumni Tailgate — enjoy a free meal (), enter our giftcard giveaway and catch up with old friends!

At 6p, OCA will present the 2025 homecoming court, followed by the varsity boys game, 6:30p, and the varsity girls game, 8p.

📣BUT THAT’S NOT ALL…

Come back Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11a for our annual student vs alumni basketball game in our gym. 🦅🏀

It’s going to be a fun weekend and we hope you make plans to come home and say hello! 👋

OCA Alumni: You are invited to homecoming this Friday, Nov. 22. JV Boys play at 5p, homecoming court around 6p, varsity boys play at 6:30p and varsity girls play at 8p.

We’ll have a free dinner for alumni in the youth wing of the gym and a giveaway for a $100 gift card at halftime of the varsity boys game.

OCA ALUMNI: You are invited to our homecoming festivities this Friday and Saturday!

FRIDAY: Homecoming basketball games vs Dickson — JV 5p, varsity boys 6:30p and varsity girls 8p. Alumni and families get in free. Make sure to tell the gate you are a grad. 🎓

Homecoming court presentation is at 6p and a special recognition of a past coach between varsity games will happen around 7:45p. 👑

ALUMNI DINNER: Beginning at 5:30p, alumni and their families get a free meal in the Edmond Church youth room, the north room inside the gym. This is come and go, so stop by when you can!

SATURDAY: Join us for the alumni basketball game in the OCA gym at 11a. A free lunch will follow in the STEAM Center.

It’s a full weekend of fun and we hope you’ll come home for it!
