We have been dedicated to doing just that since 1963 through the care and learning we provide through our Child Care Center. Since 1963 the education building at First Christian Church has been filled with the sights and sounds of children of all ages each weekday. This outreach ministry was begun in response to the need of a single mother who was returning to school to complete her education. We
have the distinction of being the first licensed child care facility in Oklahoma. We offer care Monday through Friday from 6:45am to 6:00pm for children 6 weeks of age through the completion of fifth grade. We offer transportation to area public and private schools at no additional charge, house an Edmond Public Schools Pre-K classroom, and offer Private full-day kindergarten as well with a certified teacher utilizing the A Beka curriculum. Our mission is to serve children and families by providing an early learning environment that encourages the spiritual, physical, social-emotional, and intellectual development of each individual child at his or her own pace, following state and nationally accepted standards of child care. We believe a child’s early experiences enrich and foster future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in our Christian environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination. We value each child’s need for safety, security, warmth, and acceptance in the promise of God’s love.
