1. What advice would you give to a student just starting their journey at UCO?
“My biggest piece of advice to students starting their academic journey at UCO is to not be afraid to ask for help, especially in a challenging major. There is no shame in going to office hours if you are struggling. My professors have been incredibly approachable and supportive, and I attribute my success to the time they have invested in helping me outside the classroom. They truly want to see you succeed.”
2. What’s one moment from your time at UCO that you’ll carry with you forever?
“Being a teaching assistant for human anatomy over the past three semesters has been one of the most enriching experiences of my college career. It strengthened my understanding of the material while helping me grow as a leader and communicator, all while supporting my peers in a demanding course.”
3. Biomedical sciences is such a demanding path. What kept you motivated on the hard days, and what are you most excited to pursue next?
“Biomedical sciences is a rigorous major, but I am grateful for my husband’s constant support. Working toward our future together has kept me motivated, and I am excited to begin my career as a medicolegal death investigator, while supporting him through graduate school.”
