The pressure should move:
➡️ into the trail leg early in the backswing
➡️ then shift to the lead leg before the downswing starts

Most players do it way too late and that’s what messes up contact and sends the club off plane.

This step drill forces the correct sequence.
You’ll feel it instantly.

Try it slow. Then blend it into your swing.

Better sequence → better contact → better ball flight.

Tuesday’s have been filling up like crazy lately! @braums let me know if you need an official golf coach! ⛳️ I will accept payment in milkshakes or chicken strips.

If your goal is to lower your scores, this is the simplest place to start.

For most amateur golfers, at least half of your practice time should be putting and chipping.

Here’s why: Putting and shots inside 100 yards account for roughly 60–65% of all shots in a round for the average golfer. Yet most players spend the majority of their practice time hitting full swings on the range.

From a scoring perspective, that’s inefficient.

Tour-level data consistently shows that strokes gained around the green and on the putting surface separate good scores from average ones. Improving your short game saves strokes much faster than chasing marginal gains in ball speed or swing aesthetics.

This isn’t about ignoring your full swing. It’s about prioritizing the shots you hit most often.

Coming Home

This is the place I fell in love with the game. Not on pristine country club fairways and greens, but on hard pan and the occasional w**d & crab grass.

The game drew me in with one perfect shot soaring through the air and the tuning fork going off inside my soul. It was the pursuit of excellence, always striving for the next goal. My competitive avenue found it’s drive here on these humble grounds.

This place was hours of alone time with my brother, a hero to me, and practically running to keep up with his pace when I was just learning. It was 27 holes with my best friends in high school and then pool volleyball at Keaton’s to cool off in the afternoons.

It might not seem like much but this place will always have a very special place in my heart. When I’m feeling lost in the game of golf (or life), a round here always seems to reset things and bring me some peace.
