We are thrilled to celebrate Preschool Teacher Hillary Harris for being named the recipient of the SAES Connie Wootton Award for Excellence in Teaching! We loved getting to celebrate and suprise her with this award alongside, SAES Executive Director, Rob Devlin, at our last Storm Central on Friday. Mrs. Harris was chosen out of applicants from the 90 schools that make up the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools.
This special honor recognizes educators who embody dedication, compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to students — and Mrs. Harris exemplifies all of these qualities each and every day. Her joyful classroom, nurturing spirit, and love for our youngest learners make a lasting impact on the St. Mary’s community.
Congratulations, Mrs. Harris, on this well-deserved honor! We are so grateful for the care and excellence you bring to SMES every day.

Last week, we welcomed some very special campus leaders, and we loved every minute of it!
Several students had the priceless opportunity to “run the school for the day” alongside members of our leadership team — experiences their families generously won through Beau Geste this year.
Ms. Freymiller (Head of School), Ms. May (Dean of Faculty), and Ms. Keim (Director of Admissions & Marketing) did a terrific job leading campus last Monday. Ms. Freymiller and Ms. May conducted teacher evaluations, while Ms. Keim offered feedback on campus tour strategy and filmed content for social media. Together, they also ran an admissions meeting, assisted with a fire drill, and met with our Board President.
Mr. Zeigler, Mrs. Javaheri, and Mrs. Guinn loved spending the day with these awesome students as part of their unforgettable Beau Geste experiences. These behind-the-scenes moments created terrific memories for everyone involved!
