Woohoo, Bronchos! We have some Mr. Burns ~excccellence~ to announce! UCO Theatre Arts is thrilled to share the awards earned from the American College Theatre Festival for our Spring 2026 production of Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play!
1: The Mr. Burns Irene Ryan nominees, awarded for their outstanding performances, are Madison Hoover (Quincy/Bart) and Layne DeTello (Sam/Mr. Burns)—these two will go on to compete in the ACTF Region VI Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions in February ‘27!
Additional Meritorious Achievement commendations to Mr. Burns:

The UCO Department of Theatre Arts presents “Hand to God,” a dark comedy by Robert Askins exploring faith, grief and the complicated line between good and evil. Produced as part of the department’s season, the show gives UCO theatre students the opportunity to tackle challenging contemporary material on stage.

Student artists take the stage in the UCO Department of Theatre Arts production of “Hand to God.”
This dark comedy by Robert Askins follows a small church puppet ministry in Texas where a puppet named Tyrone appears to take on a life of his own. As the story unfolds, the play explores themes of faith, grief and the complicated nature of good and evil.
Produced by the Department of Theatre Arts, this performance provides UCO theatre students the opportunity to engage with challenging contemporary material while developing their craft as actors, designers and storytellers.
