The Johansen Piano Studio is located in the Deer Creek School District of Edmond, Oklahoma. The studio offers private piano lessons to students in PreK-12th.

Happy World Laughter Day! This might be my favorite picture from the entire semester. She's working hard on those finger skills — and apparently also on her spring fashion. Young musicians remind me every single day that learning can be joyful, silly, and serious all at the same time. I wouldn't trade this for anything.
🌸 What a way to wrap up the year! Our final group class, "Spring into Performance!" was an absolute blast from start to finish. We soaked in the beauty of Erik Satie's *Gymnopédie No. 1*, caught up with all our beloved studio characters — AND welcomed a brand new friend to the group! 🎉
These fun characters are one of my favorite tools for making musical concepts stick in the most silly, memorable ways — and watching the kids light up every time never gets old.
We also played some seriously amazing games (shoutout to the incredible Michelle Sisler and Keys to Imagination for the inspiration!). And a big thank you to Spring Creek Baptist Church for the use of the facility! We were having SO much fun that we completely forgot to grab photos — and honestly? That might be the best sign of a great class.
Now I'm counting down the days to our Spring Recital — I cannot WAIT to hear these kids shine!

We’re back! 🎹✨
Johansen Piano Studio is officially open this week as we jump into full performance season mode! This month is packed with purpose—group classes, weekly lessons, and lots of focused preparation as we get ready for Festival, State Auditions, and our Spring Honors Recital.
It’s a busy season, but one filled with growth, confidence, and beautiful music in the making. Let’s lean in, stay consistent, and give it our best—because we can do this! 💪🎶
