✨ Part of the Healing Homeroom structure is to plan around your self-maintenance to allow time for self-care.
✅ Self-maintenance should be routine habits to maintain your needs. Taking a shower, eating a healthy meal, wearing clean clothes are acts of maintaing one's sense of self.
😌 Acts of self-care are done as the icing on the cake. If exercising is part of your self-maintenance, perhaps taking the scenic route on a jog rather than the treadmill is your self-care.
🤍 What does self maintenance look like for your kiddos? What is their self-care?

🧘🏽♀️🤍 Healing Homeroom defines social-emotional learning as learning about your self. You are an intersectional, multi-hyphenated, emotional being. What could be more interesting to learn about than YOU?

Monkey Mind is a buddhist term that refers to an overactive mind that may hinder our ability to move forward. in this instance it may prevent you to feel rested even when getting to bed at a decent time.
When we are over scheduled and under planned— all the tasks, to-dos, and thoughts run through our mind right as we are trying to sleep. This sorting process should happen while we are a sleep as a way for the brain to regulate new information and optimize executive functioning.
At Healing Homeroom, meditation can be used as a tool to quiet the mind, encourage the calm, and rest in order to thrive.
Join Instagram Live at 5pm CST this evening to practice a focused attention meditation that could help you quiet your Monkey Mind tonight.

Sleeping to Study Part 1:
📚With finals fast approaching, the time to prepare is now.
🛏Forget those late night cram jams and incorporate naps, study sessions, & better sleep habits.
🔬Students who have strong sleep habits are better able to convert new information into long term memory. This allows you to better apply what you learned to more complex situations!
🤍 For a plan that is customized to your schedule and demands, send us an email by clicking the button in our bio!
Monday Mantra: BRING BACK NAPS!
📚take a 20-90 minute nap before a study session when reviewing materials.
🔬Studies have shown that students perform 20% better when tested on review concepts after a nap!
Sleep is SO essential to our learning that I will be going over more sleep & study tips this week!
Look up, what do you see?
When we take the time to look up, we are required to relax.
🧘🏽♀️ Align the spine, and pause. Breath. Bring your third eye to the sky.
🤍 It is okay if you don’t produce anything other than joy and rest today. You can begin again, tomorrow.
📚 Whether you have school tomorrow or work tomorrow, schedule the time to rest if you plan to achieve great things.

This month we honor Indigenous People's Heritage Month.
Our truth is that of a family who arrived as colonized immigrants on another's stolen land. The healing of mother earth and her people can only happen through the reparations of autonomy and of sovereignty.
Find out more about whose land you are on to honor and remember the present tribes and their ancestors.
