There is still time to prepare your learner for this year's STAAR math test. For whatever the needs, getting ahead or back on the right track, I'm ready to help as many as I can be successful.
More students are having to rely on Google to help complete their math home work.
It turns out the damage from the pandemic reached a lot further than what we have seen on the surface. Cancelling in-person school caused the majority of students' math skills to suffer. I'm willing to bet some of my students who remained at home the entire school year last year rarely did more math than Google did!
From the time COVID-19 broke out, students have relied far too much on having to Google answers or use math helper websites to do their homework for them. In fact, they're doing it now. How do I know this? - If their homework is identical to the types of problems they see on the test and they make 100% on their homework assignments, but a 30% on their test, and this happens multiple times throughout the year, it doesn't take a math person to conclude this isn't adding up. When they do this, they think they're outsmarting me. But it's pretty hard NOT to see this ratio. Worse yet, they have skipped out on so many learning opportunities that only compounds the problem over time since math is a subject that builds on itself.
The internet is an amazing tool for acquiring skills, but leaving it in the hands of 13-year-olds to figure out their math homework was too much to ask. That should have been my job.
If your child is between 4th and 9th grade and is making low test scores in math, I would love to help them get back on track. I have been a math teacher from 6th through 9th grade. I have gained a lot more insight through this process and know exactly what your child needs to know in order to be successful in math. Summer will be here soon. Consider this safe investment in their success today. Online sessions start at $30 an hour, in-person sessions start at $40 an hour. Message me for scheduling or other inquiries.

If your child is between 4th and 9th grade and has made low test scores in math, I would love to help them get back on track. I have taught math in the classroom for grades 6th, 7th, 8th, Algebra 1, and a year of STAAR prep math as a bonus. Insights I've gained through this experience has shown me exactly what your child needs to know in order to be successful in math.
