It may be beautiful on Edisto today, but unfortunately the forecast for this weekend is looking like a very different story. 🌤️➡️🌧️

Because of the increasingly unfavorable weather outlook, we are planning to move the Fall Festival to Saturday, October 31.

Happy first day of fall from Edisto! 🍂

The shrimp boats are out, the oyster roasts are firing up, and the sunsets are putting on a show every single evening. Beach days are still plenty warm, just without the part where you melt into your towel by noon. Think “perfect sweatshirt at sunset” weather.

Some views you just can’t schedule.

We caught this roseate spoonbill working the marsh at low tide, and it honestly stopped us in our tracks. That flush of pink isn’t for show, it comes straight from what they eat, the shrimp and small crustaceans they sweep out of the shallows with that spoon shaped bill. People mistake them for flamingos all the time, but the spoonbill is the only one of its kind found anywhere in the Americas.

Here’s the thing about late summer on Edisto. This is right when the spoonbills start turning up, drifting north after nesting season down in Florida. The crowds have thinned, the rates are gentler, and the whole island feels like it’s leaning into the change of season. The wildlife feels it too. Everything gets a little more active.

This is the Edisto we love. Quiet, wild, and waiting on you.

Happy National Dog Day from all of us at Carolina One Edisto! 🐾

Today we are celebrating the four legged members of our team. Meet the pups who keep us company and remind us daily why Edisto is such a special place to bring the whole family, tails included.

Edisto Beach is still one of the most pet friendly beaches around. Dogs are welcome on the sand year round. From May 1 through October 31 they just need to be leashed, and from November 1 through April 30 they can run off leash as long as they stay under your voice command. Owners are asked to clean up after their pups, and waste bag stations are available at each beach access.
