Our 4th and 5th graders spent a fantastic morning outdoors with community volunteer Mr. King, working together to pull weeds and set up our brand-new garden. They brought math out of the textbook and into the dirt by recording plant heights (4th graders measuring to the nearest 1/4 inch and 5th graders taking precise measurements to the nearest 1/8 inch). Up next, they’ll be graphing their data to tackle real-world math questions aligned with SC standards! 🥬

Kindergarten finished their unit on the five senses by creating their very own shakers! 🪇✨

As they made and played with their shakers, they talked about how they can use their senses to explore them:

👀 Sight – What do their shakers look like?
👂 Hearing – What sound do their shakers make?
🖐️ Touch – How do their shakers feel in their hands?
👃 Smell – What do the materials smell like?
👅 Taste – They talked about how their sense of taste helps them explore the world (but they definitely kept their shaker materials out of their mouths! 😉).

These little scientists had so much fun learning, creating, and exploring with their senses! 💕🔎🪇

We are so incredibly thankful for Ms. Logan and Ms. Wolfe and all they do for our students, staff, and school community! 💙

Their leadership, dedication, encouragement, and genuine care make such a difference every single day. They work tirelessly behind the scenes and in the moments we all see to make sure our students have the support they need and our staff feel valued, encouraged, and cared for.

Thank you, Ms. Logan and Ms. Wolfe, for leading with heart, showing up for our school community, and always putting our students first. We are so grateful for YOU and everything you do! 🥰🍎

🎨✨ Our students are getting ready for an exciting upcoming field trip with a little help from a special teaching artist!

Inspired by the story What Do You Do with a Problem?, students explored emotions through color, lines, and layers as they created their own emotion color wheels. Each choice they made reflects how they think, feel, and connect with different emotions. 💛💙❤️

We can’t wait to see these creations come alive and make new connections when we experience the performance next week! 🎭✨ What a wonderful way to connect storytelling, art, and social-emotional learning.

Friday we celebrated our amazing PTO and all the ways they support our students, teachers, and school community! 🐾

From our monthly themed snack cart and Teacher Appreciation week to our Fall Festival, sponsoring field trips, yearbook, Santa shop, fundraisers, and so much more, our PTO is constantly finding ways to make school extra special. We are so grateful for the time, effort, creativity, and love they pour into Jane Edwards!

Thank you for always showing up, supporting our teachers, and creating special memories for our students. We truly couldn’t do it without you! 💙💚
