Thank you to those for coming to yesterday’s meeting! I have just a quick update and some reminders for you all!
The ASL Movie Night is only 9 DAYS AWAY! If you intend to volunteer, or have someone that wants to volunteer, I am giving a deadline of September 23rd to give me contact information so I can reach you (or the person who wants to volunteer) and/or confirmation of your intent to volunteer. I am giving myself a deadline of the day before to give you all your positions so this way when we get to campus, we will all know our duties and there will be less confusion – this means, expect a separate e-mail from me personally between the 23rd and the 27th with your tasks. WE STILL NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! Please, recruit recruit RECRUIT! The more volunteers, the smoother this event will run.
As a reminder, if you plan to watch the movie after your task is finished, you must pay for you ticket. Tuesday, September 23rd is the LAST DAY you can get your ticket for $10. After the 23rd, ticket prices GO UP to $13/ticket. Professor Gray still has tickets on her, so contact her ([email protected]) so you can meet up with her on campus to get your ticket.
We also discussed briefly the Halloween bake sale! Thursday, October 30th from 11 to 2. After the movie night is said and done, I will be discussing volunteering options at the bake sale. Just as an FYI, the college policy on bake sales is that no one can actually “bake” things. Someone in the meeting said “pseudo-bake sale,” which is completely correct, haha. Last year, we did bake sales and we had to buy our things at places like Costco or Shoprite, and still made a profit. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. I’ll explain this further when it comes time.
We also discussed the 3rd Annual Big Apple American Sign Language Expo and Festival in New York. I have shared the details on the club’s page (facebook.com/mccaslclub), so check it out! Thanks, Chelsea, for letting us know about it!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 23rd at 2pm in College Center 310. Hope to see you there!
- Dani Resto, President.
