The College of Health Professions is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christopher Ledingham as Vice Dean of the College of Health Professions.
A health education specialist by training, Dr. Ledingham brings a distinguished record of academic leadership and service to this role. Throughout his career at URGV and its legacy institutions, he has served as Chair of the Department of Health & Human Performance at UT Brownsville, Associate Dean and Senior Associate Dean in the College of Health Professions, and Interim Chair of the Department of Health Sciences.
Beyond the university, Dr. Ledingham is a recognized leader in school health education. He has held numerous leadership positions within the American School Health Association, the School Health and Wellness Section of the American Public Health Association, and the Coalition of National Health Education Organizations. His contributions have helped advance the field of health education and strengthen collaborations across professional organizations.
As Vice Dean, Dr. Ledingham will serve as the senior academic administrator supporting the Dean in providing strategic leadership, academic oversight, and operational management for the College of Health Professions. In this capacity, he will play a critical role in advancing the college's mission of excellence in education, research, clinical practice, and community engagement across its health professions programs.

His commitment to our students, faculty, staff, and community has been instrumental to the college's continued success.
