It seems like the school year is flying by and the fall festival came and went, but once again thank you to EVERYONE who supported our school at our annual fall festival. We loved seeing smiling faces, full tummies, and community coming together on school grounds. IMPORTANT UPDATE❗️

Our professional development days were scheduled for October 6, January 5, and February 23. However due to sending our teachers to the Montessori Conference in Orlando, Florida this school year, those PD days will be supplemented during that time. This changes our school calendar a bit so we want to notify families of those changes with enough time to plan ahead. Our winter break will start earlier than scheduled on the calendar. The new dates will be from December 18 – Jan 5 and we will also be off on Memorial Day, May 27. We are very excited to have our teachers join the Montessori Conference this school year! We cannot wait to see what new and exiting things they learn from the conference!

The Discovery School prides itself on being a multicultural campus. Today we focused on a very prominent Hispanic tradition and holiday, Día de Los Mu***os. It’s a celebration or fiesta to honor the deceased. Great job with the “ofrenda!” It’s absolutely beautiful!! 💕

On November 9, 2023, award-winning author Rogelio Cervantes wil be
visiting our campus to share his children's book, Never Wake Up a Sleeping Dragon. Rogelio is a first-generation U.S. citizen who proudly served in the U.S. Military.
In honor of Veteran's Day, we'd like to invite all Veterans to join their child,
grandchild, niece or nephew to the book reading with Rogelio Cervantes, a fellow Veteran. Veterans joining must RSVP to join the author reading.
The times are as follows: Primary 9:00am - 9:30am, Lower 9:45am -
10:15am, and Upper 10:30am - 11:00am. We look forward ot seeing our Veterans!

Friday is NEARLY here and we are so excited to host the Discovery School parents at our annual Ethnic Feast. The students have been working hard on their performances and are excited to showcase their talents and various cultural studies they’ve learned.

If you are attending, please know that it’s a picnic style event. Bring a blanket / picnic blanket or towels to secure your spot. If you plan to bring your own chairs, please be sure to sit in the back of the gym as we do not want anyone to have an obstructed view of the performances.

We are looking forward to food and fellowship with the Discovery School families. 🌎

We are overjoyed to celebrate Bernadette Lugo, our school director. Under her leadership, The Discovery School is on an upward trajectory. We have increased our enrollment numbers since the conclusion of last year, improved our building and grounds, build rapport in our community, and have hosted successful fundraising events. Thank you Ms. Bernadette for all of your hard work, dedication and commitment thus far. Our school has a new light and joy, and we are excited for what the future holds! ✏️🍎

The Board of Directors met with the School Director to follow through on their plan of action for the 2023-2024 school year. It was a productive meeting full of planning, laughter, lunch and a solar eclipse! 🌥️
