🎶 Congratulations to our Bosky students! 🏅

Earlier this year, several of our students took the MVMTA Music Theory Exams. Each grade level has its own exam that tests a student’s understanding of notation, rhythm, scales, and other musical fundamentals appropriate to their level.

The results are in, and we’re proud to share that every one of them passed and earned their medals!

We’re proud to congratulate Jazmin Iturralde, a sophomore at PSJA Early College, on advancing to this year’s State Solo-Ensemble Contest. Jazmin is a dedicated member of her school orchestra under the direction of Albert Garcia and studies with Miguel Gutierrez here at Bosky School of Music. Her hard work and commitment continue to show, and we’re excited to see all that she accomplishes next.

Congratulations to Ely Vargas, a junior at McAllen Memorial High School, for advancing to this year’s UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. Ely is a dedicated member of the Memorial Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Jesus Tovar and will be advancing both as a soloist and with his ensemble.

Ely studies violin with Mr. Miguel Gutierrez at Bosky School of Music. We are so proud of his hard work and can’t wait to see him shine on the big stage. Best of luck, Ely!

Congratulations to Valentina Rodriguez, sophomore at McAllen High School, on advancing to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest this year as both a soloist and with her ensemble!

Valentina is a proud member of the McAllen High School Orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Erin Tovar, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her hard work paying off at this level.

Valentina is also one of our Bosky originals. She started taking lessons with Mr. Miguel Gutierrez when we first opened our doors, and it’s been incredible watching her grow as a musician ever since.

Congratulations, Yatzaree Rocha!

We are so proud to congratulate Yatzaree Rocha, a senior at PSJA North Early College High School, on advancing to the 2026 State Solo-Ensemble Contest! What an incredible achievement!

Yatzaree is a dedicated member of the PSJA North Orchestra under the direction of Ms. Mary Echeverria and studies here at Bosky School of Music with Mr. Miguel Gutierrez. Her hard work, talent, and commitment to her craft have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her represent at the state level.

We’re so proud to congratulate Eric Rios, a junior at Nikki Rowe High School, for advancing to the 2026 Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest. Eric is a dedicated member of his school orchestra under the direction of Ms. Jennifer Miller and studies here at Bosky School of Music with Mr. Miguel Gutierrez. Watching his hard work and consistency pay off has been really special, and we’re excited to see him represent our community at the state level.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Chloe Sheen on earning a spot in the Rio Grande Youth Symphony. 🎻✨

Chloe is a 3rd grader at Gonzalez Elementary School in McAllen and has been playing violin for just 2 1/2 years. She is also the youngest musician selected for this ensemble, which speaks to her focus, dedication, and steady growth. She studies violin with Joel Lee Ozuna, and seeing her hard work turn into opportunities like this is what music education is all about.

Congratulations, Chloe. This is a huge milestone, and we are excited to see what’s next for you.

Congratulations to Emily Campos for earning a superior rating this past weekend at her UIL Solo-Ensemble contest. Emily is a freshman at Edinburg North High School and a proud member of the JV Orchestra under the direction of Vanessa Carlson. She currently studies violin with Angelica Martinez here at Bosky School of Music. We’re proud of your hard work and dedication, Emily. Keep it up.
