Vida Saludable supports art to promote mental health and showcase local talent to reflect healthy lifestyles. Outstanding UTRGV art students led art activities including , .lizard, and . These student artists promoted positive mental health through creative expression, and the CLAA thanks them for their hard work and time!
Women who attended the event shared feedback, including that they enjoyed teaching about
women's health education from Dr. Rivas. Many women shared that they learned about gestational diabetes for the first time. Collectively, mothers felt motivated to advocate for their daughters and nieces, who are pregnant, to lead healthy lifestyles after being informed about complications that may arise due to gestational diabetes. All who attended received OBGYN care, pap smears, and related gynecological women's health care services.

The CLAA was honored to be a part of the Women’s Health Day supported by the School of Medicine and the South Texas Health Disparities Project at Bob Clark Social Services Center in Brownsville, Texas. The event included Friendship of Women community resources, free haircuts by Southern Career Institute, dance performances by professional Nicaraguan dancers, A1C readings, and diabetes education.
