If this is your first year to homeschool, let me prepare you for a few things.
You are answering the call to discipleship. It is a wonderful and amazing gift to be able to raise children, and the responsibility for their hearts and minds is huge! As you embark on this new way of life, remember that is IS a way of life. It is a marathon, and not a sprint.
You may expect perfect little pupils and a 1950's-storybook-day. Sometimes you'll get that and sometimes you won't. Your kids may love the curriculum you chose. Or not. They're kids.
There will be sick days and water-heater-leak days. There will be amazing moments of learning, and there will be tears during math. One day you'll think homeschooling is the best decision you've ever made, and the next day you'll wonder what you were thinking.
This is all very normal, because this is parenting. Now you're parenting with school supplies!
Remember, more than little school students, you are nurturing hearts and souls. You are raising the next generation. As home educators, you have the gift of time on your side. Parenting isn't always a breeze, and neither is homeschooling. It's a commitment for the long-term.
Remember this when the day doesn't go as planned. Remember the big picture. Take a deep breath. Pause and pray. And then do the next thing.

Last year was our first year using Mary on the Mantel by Be A Heart
These dolls are so adorable! They come with a book, map and acts of kindness cards!
Each day leading up to Christmas,
I would set up and stage a scene for the children. I logged Mary’s & Joesph’s “Journey to Bethlehem” in my Instagram stories and thought I would share with you some ideas!
If you are looking for an alternative to Elf on the Shelf I highly recommend these dolls! My eldest also got involved and helped create some props which made it extra special for his little sister!

In our Beautiful Feet Books Geography course we’ve been learning about maps!…landmarks, keys & legends, scales and how to use a compass. Yesterday we went to the Zoo and it was great practice for my little one with using a map and seeing & understanding all those elements and functions of a map that we’ve been learning.
✨Real life applications solidify knowledge✨

Great article of encouragement!
“Each time the student conforms himself to a standard and practices habits of discipline, he trains his soul in obedience.”
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 ESV
The Butterfly Effect
The butterfly effect proposes that small actions can cause large effects. It suggests that a butterfly launching off a mountain peak in Asia determines if a hurricane will strike Texas. Thus, one of t

Need I say more?
When it’s been a hard day, take a break.
Grab your bags and go outside.
OR grab a facial mask and close your room door for 10mins
OR go for some frozen yogurt!
BUT do NOT quit, just learn to rest…learn to pivot.

Exploring with Friends: El Sal Del Rey
*Lots of fun and adventure today as we explored a local Salt Lake.
It looks like snow but it’s all salt!!
We found lots of animals and debris preserved within the salt deposits… it was interesting to walk on too!
History & Facts:
The King's Salt has a long history!
The salty lake was an important source of salt for aboriginal people, Spanish settlers, miners from Mexico, citizens of the Republic of Texas, Confederate soldiers, and modern-day Texans. Named by early Spanish colonists, La Sal del Rey means "The Salt of the King." By royal decree, all minerals in the New World were considered the property of the King of Spain. Because of its long and significant history, the portion of the area surrounding the lake is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It’s so easy to just disengage and leave the children to themselves. We assume that “leaning in” is a form of helicoptering or micromanaging BUT actually it’s Masterly Inactivity. (a phrase coined by Charlotte Mason). Parenting requires balance, trust and a massive amount of faith!
💕Mommas, now more than ever LEAN IN !!
There is a battle for your childrens hearts and normal Christian parenting is largely losing.
I’m sure as you look around you want a better outcome then most of what you see happening?
Be careful of adopting feel good parenting wisdom from places where you don’t know if their own parenting yielded good fruit or not.
Sometimes something can sound like good wisdom but it’s actually based on new age parenting philosophies.
Dig into the word of God and draw close to Him for wisdom.
If you want help, join us in the next Parenting Mentor Program! Price goes up within days.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼
“While a mother builds a happy home, her leadership has a spiral effect. Like a pebble dropped in a pond, her leadership sets in motion ever widening circles. Rather than society influencing the home, it ought to be the Christian home influencing society. Righteousness brings beauty of character. Character creates harmony in the home. Harmony in the home brings order to civilization, which makes peace on earth. This must be what is meant by ‘The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.’ “
-Karen Andreola, Mother Culture
Some days mothering feels long and slow. While the evil in our world rages, we feel we must DO SOMETHING. But mothers, you ARE doing something. You are slowly shaping the future.
Shape it boldly and with confidence. Let this mission be on your heart and mind when you wake every morning. Whether you have the luxury of waking up late because your teens are sleeping in, or you had a too-brief night of nursing a baby, wake with the mission of motherhood: discipleship.
You don’t have to be Mary Poppins to make a happy home. You just have to live and love and serve with joy, with the knowledge that you are exactly what God created you to be, and knowing that mothers do indeed shape the future.
