Middle school scientific thinkers in action! π Gifted & Talented students from Hidalgo Independent School District, McAllen ISD and Valley View ISD participated in a field-based learning experience at the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands & World Birding Center.
Students explored environmental science through hands-on field research, including collecting freshwater samples to study the presence and impact of microplastics in natural ecosystems. They even had the opportunity to submit their findings to a national study, connecting their work to real-world research beyond the classroom.
Great, job students!

Little explorers at work! ππΏ Valley View ISD students spent the day learning outdoors with support from our Early Childhood Partnerships and Gifted & Talented teams. During a visit to the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands, students explored native plants, habitats and animals while connecting classroom learning to the world around them.
They also participated in hands-on art and a science experiment focused on filtering water. Kudos to the students for a great day of learning.
