⭐ Regional Secondary Teacher of the Year: Alissa Shirah, McAllen ISD

Along with the recognition, Mr. Ayala and Ms. Shirah each received a $1,750 check from Lone Star National Bank, Texas Regional Bank and Waymaker Leadership Development.

Educators participating in our American History & Civics initiative completed a summer study trip from July 14–18! 🇺🇸📚 History came to life as they visited Washington, D.C., Gettysburg and Philadelphia.

Guided by content experts and on-site historians, teachers from Brooks County ISD, La Villa ISD, Rio Grande City Grulla ISD, Raymondville ISD, Roma ISD, Santa Maria ISD and Zapata County Independent School District experienced immersive, place-based learning they can bring back to their classrooms and communities. 🏛️✨
