The Health Care Coalition aims to help students interested in the health field by acting as a liaison between students and doctors.

HEALTH CARE COALITION OFFERS:

1). To provide students with more information about medical school and make them aware of requirements

2). To act as a liaison between doctors and students and facilitate a mentor relationship between doctors and students

3). To make members aware of volunteer opportunities through other student organizations therefore creating a sense of unity within the school at large.

Here's a great opportunity to volunteer at a diabetes camp! Students interested in the healthcare field will be offered training that will cover how to care for a child with diabetes. This includes skill checks and hands on real-life experiences. Students will be under skilled supervision of camp counselors and medical staff and also help will the camp activities. Diabetes is associated with many other health complications, so it’s important to slowly make lifestyle choices to preventing diabetes.

Fun fact: 9.4% of Americans have diabetes, according to the America Diabetes Association!

Mission Regional Hospital hosted its Halloween Safety Fair today! There were various booths with activities and games and had the EMS, Fire Department, and the Police Department promote safety in engaging ways.

They had interactive activities such as evacuating in the case of a house fire.
It was great to see the community gather to an event with fun, food, and music! It was great to see all of the kids’ Halloween costumes!

Come on down to the UREC for some Zumba! The Zumbathon will going on until 9 pm. Also, there are booths for breast cancer awareness! HCC has a table set up with a poster about breast cancer in addition to an interactive activity!
