All Star Team Introduction Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, and is currently serving over 750 million worldwide users.

It is a social networking site allowing users to interact with each other using the tools provided to them by Facebook, such as photo sharing, customizable applications, and instant messaging. Facebook serves as a platform for applications. This platform has been very successful and beneficial that some applications have turned into businesses. Since venturing into the social networking marketplace, Facebook has gained a huge audience. Aside from this success, Facebook’s path to profitability has not been a smooth one. Several incidents have affected the credibility of this organization causing major companies such as Coca Cola to pull their advertising and support from Facebook’s advertising platform. They did not want to be involved with Beacon knowing it was an opt-out program and not an opt-in program. Users around the world have formed protest groups to protest regarding the privacy of their information. This has caused Facebook to realize that they have to take measures ensuring users that their information is secure.
