Japanese Culture Club - JCC Our club is to be known as the Japanese Language & Culture Club. The premise of our club is going to be to study and learn Japanese.

Currently in UTRGV, there are no classes, books, or other means for students interested in the Japanese language acquire a more in depth knowledge of the language. For that our little group has come together for a solution to that problem, and come together to create a club that would meet the needs of those interested in Japanese. For those members serious about mastering the Language, it will be the club's goal to help them on their way to becoming more fluent. It will also be the goal of the club to offer these members funds and transportation for them to be able to take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) which is held only certain times of the year in the city of Houston, TX. The closest date being July 3, 2016. Though becoming fluent in the language is our main goal, our club will also offer its members some knowledge on Japanese culture. Everything from social customs, to famous legends, to its arts, such as its unique Kabuki theater.

Hey all,

So as promised here is more information on the club.

We've decided to restart the club. I've sent in reservations for rooms, and hopefully, by Oct. 3rd we will have our first meeting.

We've also decided to merge with the anime club, so from this point on we are no longer the Japanese Language & Culture Club, nor the Japanese Animation Club.

We are now the Japanese Culture Club.

So, not interested in the language? But you are an Anime fan?

Feel free to join us. Whether you like the Anime, Music, Food, Language, or other wonder given to us by Japan. Feel free to drop by to our future meetings.

I know last week I had advertised that the club will be shutting down. But thanks to some motivated people that have contacted for the chance to try again. The club will be restarting this semester. We will update this page as we make further decisions on club schedule.

Starting Thursday, Feb 15th, the Japanese Language & Culture Club will be meeting again!

The meetings will be every Tuesday & Thursday from 12:20pm - 1:20pm at the STAC 1.112B.
