Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our newest students to New to IDEA Culture Camp at IDEA Edinburg College Prep! Today, students learned about our campus culture and expectations, met their teachers, explored the many supports and resources available to them, and began building new friendships as they prepared for an incredible school year.

To help our families get ready for the first day of school, every student also received a FREE haircut voucher from UCAS University of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences and a Gladys Porter Zoo admission ticket! 🎟️✂️

Thank you to our dedicated staff for making today such a fun and meaningful experience. We can’t wait to see our newest Eagles soar this school year!

We are excited to introduce the new IDEA Edinburg College-Bound Bell! 🦅

Our seniors will now be able to ring the bell as they celebrate their college acceptances and again in the spring when they officially commit to their college. This new tradition will also give our families the opportunity to join us in recognizing these important milestones and celebrating the accomplishments of our students.

We would like to extend a special thank-you to our former principal, Mr. Ramiro Gomez Jr., for generously donating this custom bell through his business, Mr. G’s Custom Wood Work.

Success starts before the first bell rings! Wearing the school uniform with pride helps create a safe, focused, and respectful learning environment where every student is ready to achieve.

Please take a moment to review this year's Uniform Expectations with your student before the first day of school.

✅ Grade-level polo colors
✅ Khaki, navy, or black bottoms (NO jean material, leggings, or cargo pants/shorts)
✅ Closed-toe athletic shoes (preferably all black or 90% black with 10% white only—no other colors)
✅ Belts required for grades 6–12

Today we welcomed our IDEA Edinburg Class of 2026 back to campus for our Summer Bridge event! 🦅

Our future college students had the opportunity to meet with their counselors, review their class schedules, confirm their financial aid and college billing information, and make sure they are ready for a successful start this August. It was also a great time to reconnect with classmates, share excitement, and celebrate this next chapter together.

Watching our Eagles prepare to take this next step reminds us why we do what we do. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see your first day of college pictures in just a few weeks!

Community Resource!

The Food Bank RGV INC will have a pop-up mobile produce distribution on Friday, July 24 in Edinburg from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or while supplies last. This distribution is open to all cities.
Clients and families may attend only one Mobile Food Distribution per week to ensure fair access for all households in need.

As we officially kick off the 2026–2027 school year, our RGV Campus Lead Teams came together this week for our RGV Lead Team Kickoff! 💙💛

Our campus leaders spent the day collaborating, setting goals, strengthening partnerships, and preparing to support our campuses as we launch another incredible year of learning. From planning with purpose to building momentum, we're beginning this school year in high gear and can't wait to welcome our students back.
