The 2025-2026 year is in the books, and it flew by.
I’m still in awe of everything we accomplished together.
This year we:
• Placed 9 members into All-Region Orchestra
• Earned Sweepstakes for both Symphony and String Orchestra
• Performed our Halloween, Christmas, and Star Wars concerts
• Qualified 28 students for State Solo & Ensemble
• Had the honor of hearing Agustín Hadelich perform with the Houston Symphony
There are no words for how grateful I am for our students. This program exists because of you. You are the heart of it. Thank you for valuing what classical music brings to your education and for seeing the lasting value it will bring to your future.
Mr. Cantu, Mrs. Lara, Mr. Gutierrez, Mr. Lopez, and Mr. Martinez — I couldn’t build this without you.
Mr. Rogers, thank you for your guidance and for being 100% committed to bringing out the best in our Symphony Orchestra.
Band staff, thank you for your support in Symphony. Those straight 1s don’t happen without you.
To our orchestra seniors: Classical music, your instrument, and the discipline you’ve built are gifts you’ll carry for life. Cherish them. Keep playing. We will always be here for you.

The Bobcat Orchestra is bringing home 24 medals from State Solo & Ensemble!
These students have earned every bit of recognition through their hard work, dedication, and commitment. We are so proud of the incredible musicians they’ve become.

EHS Orchestra Spring Auditions 🎻 – Next Tuesday
Current & Future Bobcat Orchestra Members:
We will hold our Spring Orchestra Auditions next Tuesday for Varsity/JV placement.
Important reminders:
Music has already been passed out — you should be practicing now!
Be on time to class Tuesday — auditions will take place during your orchestra period.
Not currently in orchestra?
Current EHS students: See me after school to schedule an after-school audition.
Incoming transfers not from Barrientes MS: Contact the EHS front office and ask to be transferred to the orchestra office to schedule your audition.
