The Sociology Department is pleased to offer a Master of Science in Sociology degree that provides diverse and dynamic courses and training. The Master’s degree program can pave the way for entering a PhD program and open doors to teaching and research positions. It can also provide a skillset crucial for employment within a variety of non-profit/community organizations, state agencies, and federal agencies. In short, the program offers a wide variety of academic options and career opportunities (https://www.utrgv.edu/sociology/graduate/sociology-ms/index.htm).
For anyone that is (or might be) interested, Dr. Restifo is happy to schedule a phone or Zoom meeting to discuss the Sociology Master’s degree program and answer any questions you might have about it, the application process, starting dates, and potential funding opportunities. Dr. Restifo will also discuss the different thesis and non-thesis options with you, as well as possible teaching training/opportunities. (Please note: UTRGV has eliminated the GRE requirement for applicants looking to start during the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021 terms.)
If you’d like to schedule a meeting with Dr. Restifo or have any questions, please contact him at: [email protected]
