Happy International Women in Engineering Day!!
Women in engineering play a crucial role in driving innovation and fostering diversity within the field. Their unique perspectives and problem-solving approaches enhance creativity and lead to more comprehensive and effective solutions. Despite historical underrepresentation, women continue to break barriers, inspiring future generations and proving that engineering is not just a profession but a vital platform for gender equality and societal advancement. Empowering women engineers is essential for achieving technological progress and a more inclusive world.

UTRGV - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley 2024 Excellence Team Award GOES TO 🏆
UTRGV College of Engineering and Computer Science “ ⚙️ National Manufacturing Expo👷🏻”
The purpose of the UTRGV Team Excellence Award is to recognize and honor outstanding team contributions that foster the university’s mission and institutional core values.
The National Manufacturing Expo serves as a pivotal platform for industry, academia, and scientists to forge partnerships and collaborations, disseminating cutting-edge research and real-world manufacturing practices to thousands of young Hispanics. This diverse audience includes college students, high schoolers, and middle schoolers, aiming to instill an early interest in manufacturing and cultivate a future generation of skilled professionals.
Spanning across 20 school districts in the Rio Grande Valley, the expo draws in approximately 1,500 students from middle school to high school. By aligning with UTRGV’s vision of transforming the region and beyond through research, creative works, and community engagement, the event plays a crucial role in fulfilling the university’s mission.
The attendance of these students at the expo directly contributes to UTRGV’s goal of inspiring them to pursue STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields at the institution. Moreover, the expo fosters extensive collaborations among students and faculty/staff from various colleges and programs, including the College of Engineering & Computer Science, the College of Fine Arts, and the College of Sciences.
Overall, the National Manufacturing Expo not only inspires students from K-12 to aspire to attend
UTRGV but also serves as a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation, furthering the university’s commitment to driving regional transformation and fostering academic excellence.
Specials Thanks to Dr. Jianzhi Li & Lesly OZ for their leadership on this amazing initiative.
Also, thanks to all participants who in one way or another contributed to this event.
