Hey HOST Club! 🍍
We have a super amazing Case Study Competition for you all to enter! 🏆
This competition focuses on the Lodging 🏨 and Restaurant 🍽 branches of Hospitality. Teams will be acting as managers in charge of revamping their underperforming locations, and presenting their plan of action to a panel of judges. We encourage everyone to join and grow their research, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills while gaining a valuable experience that can be added to your resumes! 📃
🗓 We will be discussing the details of the competition in our meeting next Tuesday, if you'd like to enter, please send an email with the names of your team members to [email protected] by November 14th!

Howdy HOST Club! 🌤️🍍🤠
If you were at the meeting either on zoom or in person with us on Tuesday, then you know about ALIS- The Americas Lodging Investment Summit happening in January, and how the HOST Club will be sending a few members to attend this amazing conference, all expenses paid! David and Sam shared their experiences, how they were working at the conference while also being able to attend the screenings, and how they were paid $17 per hour. Cha-ching! So if you're interested make sure you meet the following criteria:

✅ 2.5 GPA
✅ Good standing with the University
✅ Active member

If you wish to apply send the following to [email protected]

✅️Short letter of interest (one paragraph is fine)
✅ Including why you'd be a good fit
✅ Resume

🎓Keep in mind that those who go are representing the HOST Club and UTRGV, and must act accordingly at all times while attending ALIS.

Good afternoon HOST Club! 🌤

Reminder that TODAY is the deadline to submit your short letters of interest to [email protected] if you want to attend the LHA Conference in Dallas this October! We still have spots left so don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!

We will be discussing more conferences and upcoming events during our next meeting Tuesday Oct. 3rd!

Hi HOST Club!🍍🤠
It's almost fall, but the summer sun is still sticking around☀️
To beat the heat, the HOST Club will be having a fundraiser selling hot dogs, drinks, and popsicles!🌭🥤🍦
Come by (and buy) this Thursday 9/21/22 from 12-4PM outside EMAGC!

✅️HOST Club members can help with the fundraiser and earn points by volunteering with us to help sell! If you can't make it but still want to help, spread the word and tell your friends to come grab a bite to eat and cool down with a popsicle 🧊

📍The fundraiser will be held at the BBQ pit outside of EMAGC ( #40 on the UTRGV map) If you need any help finding us, reach out! We're more than happy to help 🧡

🍍🧡 Thank you so much to everyone who attended our meeting today! We got to hear encouraging words from Dr. Singh, Chef Marcel, Noelynn, and our Dean Dr. Gotti regarding all the wonderful opportunities the HOST Club has in store for members! We hope everyone had fun and can't wait to see you all again next week! We look forward to creating more fun memories with the HOST Club in the future 🧡🍍

🗓 Our next meeting will be on Tuesday September 19th from 12:30-1:30PM
There will be an activity that members attending via Zoom will be able to participate in as well so stay tuned for more info!

We are excited to announce that our first General Meeting will be taking place next week Tuesday, September 12th from 12:30-1:30 PM in EHABE 1.122. 📝
There will be food, drinks, and fun!
Come have lunch, learn about the club, meet the officers, and get to know eachother!
Please be sure to RVSP for the meeting using the link in our bio so we can have enough resources for everyone 🙂

🎁Attending meetings is the easiest way for members to earn points! If you're unfamiliar with points and what they do, we will be explaining the point system on Tuesday so make sure to be there!
