The opening reception for “Remnants of the River” is happening Tuesday April 28, from 6-9 pm!

Remnants of the River” is a group exhibition organized and curated by UTRGV students Gael O Garcia Gonzalez, Karol Rodriguez, and Nicole Logan. The work in this exhibition showcases “the historical resilience and proud heritage of those who call the Rio Grande Valley home.”

This Thursday at the VABL Gallery is the public reception for ‘The Grid’!

‘The Grid’ is a group exhibition featuring works made by senior VCD BFA students. The exhibition includes several interactive elements, as well as individual portfolios showcasing the exciting design work being done by UTRGV School of Art and Design students!

““The Grain of Memory is a compelling collection that unearths the hidden names of Korea under Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945), bringing visibility to those erased from dominant historical narratives of this time. While the global teachings of this period often center around the western hemisphere of World War II, this body of work reveals the parallel history of cultural oppression, betrayal, and unyielding resistance that unfolded on the Korean peninsula. The mission of the exhibition is to highlight not only the celebrated and remembered independence activists, but also on the countless unnamed individuals whose stories are fragmented.”
