UTRGV Vaqueros ROTC cadets went on a fun run for PT dressed in various costumes to celebrate the Halloween spirit!

“We Win!”
It’s our new UTRGV ROTC espirit de corps campaign. Every time one of our cadets goes above and beyond or excels in any way, the cadet will be recognized in all our social media platforms. Our first “We Win” recognition goes to Cadet Jeremiah Garcia! He has been at Fort Knox for almost two months volunteering his time in support of Summer Camp, as well as, attending Basic Camp. Cadet Garcia returns next week. God Willing, he will take a few weeks off to enjoy some rest and recuperation. He starts the Fall Semester as an MSL2. For Cadet Garcia’s selfless service, we say “We Win!”

New ROTC Professor of Military Science MAJ Gerry Resmondo, was challenged for fun by incoming freshmen to do as many pushups as possible during orientation at the UTRGV Edinburg campus. The push-up event measures the endurance of the chest, shoulder, and triceps muscles.

During orientation, you will be provided information from Academic Advisement, get your Vaquero Student ID, register for ROTC courses and knock out a few push-ups. 😊

Brownsville freshman orientation

Besides wearing comfortable shoes for all the walking the new freshmen did, they also brought their upper strength. Which they displayed during the ROTC push-up challenge-up during the UTRGV ROTC information table at the Brownsville Campus. Can you tell how much they enjoyed it too?

UTRGV Student orientation is a period of time at the beginning of the academic year at a university which a variety of events are held to orient and welcome new students. Today we challenge several new students to a push-up challenge.
Friday 14 July we will be at the Brownsville Campus for another Freshman Orientation. ROO.

The Land Navigation course is designed to train Cadets on how to Navigate from one point to another using just a map, compass and protractor. Cadets Joseph Cantu, UTRGV and Kevin Potocki Dickerson College heading out.
