From June 23–26, our TEAMS National Qualifiers traveled to National Harbor, Maryland, to compete in the National TEAMS Competition. This year’s theme, “Engineering the Past,” challenged students to apply engineering, mathematics, physics, and problem-solving skills to challenges inspired by history.
Students competed in a variety of events, including a design-and-build challenge where they constructed a covered wagon and navigated an obstacle course while carrying a load. They also participated in a presentation competition, where teams were assigned an ancient society and tasked with engineering a solution for providing clean water.
In addition, students competed in a mathematical modeling challenge and completed a 25-question mathematics and physics test.
Beyond the competition, students had a fantastic time, made lasting memories, and represented GM with pride. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and dedication throughout the competition!
