Last week, the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade mentorship groups with Mr. Basko, Mrs. Basko, Mr. Snair, Mrs. McCray, and Mr. Stuyvesant have been busy painting pumpkins to bring some fall spirit to the high school office and the outside of the building!

From creativity and collaboration to teamwork, laughter, and a little relaxation, it’s been a wonderful week of coming together and getting into the fall and Halloween spirit! 🎨👻

Mrs. Wall’s anatomy class used the desk tops to unconventionally review the 27 types of human tissue and cell types. Students worked together to create mind maps with the name, location, functions, and photos of each tissue type in preparation for their lab practical.

It was announced by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) that Juliet Mikulcik, Micah Ford, Abigail Dougan, Emma Ford, Robert Trettle, Claire Gallagher, Jason Ramey, William Malec, Madeline Marazza from General McLane High School have been selected to perform in the District 2 Band Festival, which will take place January 14th-16th 2027 at Warren Area High School in Warren, PA. This year’s event will include over 160 students from 36 schools. The guest conductor for the program will be Dr. Scott Meier, Associate Professor of Music Education at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. The festival host is Chris Wise, Band and Orchestra Director at Warren Area High School. A public concert will be presented on January 16th beginning at 2:00 PM at the WAHS Auditorium. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Congratulations, Lancers! 🎶🔴⚪
