McKean Elementary School's Fourth Grade teacher, Ms. Pulice! Ms. Pulice graduated from McDowell High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from PennWest Edinboro. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks outside with her dog, working out at the gym, baking, shopping, and reading!

McKean Elementary School's Special Education teacher, Mrs. Whitmer! Mrs. Whitmer is a graduate of General McLane and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from PennWest Edinboro. She enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends!

General McLane High School's Biology teacher, Mr. Skinner! He is a graduate of Fort LeBoeuf and earned his undergraduate degree from PennWest Edinboro University. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and coaching!

General McLane High School's Special Education teacher, Ms. Trax! She grew up in McMurray PA, about 20 minutes south of Pittsburgh and graduated with her bachelor's degree and her master’s degree from PennWest Edinboro University. Ms. Trax enjoys running, painting, and thrifting!

🍎 Welcome Back, GMSD teaching staff! 🍎
Our teachers are back and ready to kick off an amazing 2026–27 school year! Dr. Lane led the event, unveiling this year’s district theme, “Happiness is a State of Mind,” will guide us throughout the year as we focus on Mindfulness, Generosity, and a Positive Outlook.

Here’s to a year of presence, kindness, and positivity as we grow, learn, and support one another. Happiness is a habit we build together!

Edinboro Elementary School held our Kickstart to Kindergarten program over the past two days! Our newest learners had the opportunity to tour the school, spend time in all four kindergarten classrooms completing different activities, experience going through the lunch line, play at recess, and even practice dismissal at the end of the day.

The second day concluded with a parent orientation, followed by our students becoming the tour guides! They had the chance to show their families around the school and share everything they experienced and learned during their two days with us.

Kickstart to Kindergarten has become such an important experience for helping our youngest learners become comfortable and confident in their new school environment—without the added pressure of having all of our other students in the building.

What a fun two days welcoming the newest members of our Edinboro Elementary family!

The General McLane School District Board of Education will meet for its Monthly Agenda Meeting on August 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Therese Walter Education Center McDonald Board Room.
Board directors will vote on various school-related topics that were discussed at last week's Study Session meeting.

On these dates, our buildings will be open and we are inviting students in grades Kindergarten-12 into their respective buildings to meet their teacher and get a first look at their building for the year. See you soon, GMSD students! 😎

The General McLane Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, for its Monthly Study Session Meeting. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Therese Walter Education Center, McDonald Board Room, 11771 Edinboro Road, Edinboro, PA.
There will be no Policy & Co-Curricular Activities Committee, Finance & District Operations Committee, or Curriculum & Instruction Committee meetings. At the Study Session Meeting, Board Members will hear about various school-related topics from GMSD Administration. The public is invited to attend, but there is no opportunity for public speaking at this meeting.
