The Edina Dance Team B-Squad is the perfect place to learn and perfect your dance team techniques so you are ready for the high school Hornettes and Competitve Dance Teams! This squad experiences all that high school dance team has to offer, but with a more limited time commitment. We are looking for dedicated dancers of intermediate to advanced level, from current grades 6-8 (7-9 this fall) to co
mpete with the Edina Dance Team B-squad. When auditioning during B squad tryouts you are committing to:
- Jazz practice 2-3 practices a week (4-5 hours a week)
- 3 Jazz meets, 2-4 Invitationals
B-Squad Dancers wanting to dance more may tryout for JV kick squad in October. The kick team:
- meets an additional 3-4 hours a week. Kick participation is not a requirement. It is simply an option to begin learning kick technique in preparation for participation on the high school squads.
- JV kick dancers perform in 3 kick meets and the same 2-4 invitational as the jazz squad. Optional opportunities include summer dance team camp, clinics, and performances at high school basketball games. The B-Squad travels with the Varsity and JV squads to meets and invites, so dancers get the full high school dance team experience.
