Two of the best there is! 💙🤍

Teamwork and support often go hand-in-hand, especially when unexpected changes call for people to step up for one another.

This week’s Puyallup Praise recognizes Jill Miller (pictured right) and Courtney Hitchcock (pictured left) from Mt. View Elementary for doing just that!

Nominated by Mt. View Principal Anne Mummert, she shares: “After an unexpected vacancy in fifth grade, Jill went above and beyond by preparing the vacant classroom and materials for a new colleague, while Courtney stepped in immediately and was willing to substitute for as long as needed.

“When our new teacher joined the team, both welcomed him warmly and helped him get up to speed quickly. Thanks to their teamwork, flexibility, and dedication, our students experienced a seamless transition and never felt the stress of the staffing change.”

Thank you, Jill and Courtney, for supporting your colleagues and helping provide consistency and a smooth start to the school year for our students.

Each week, Puyallup School District staff recognize their peers through our Puyallup Praise program. Be sure to check back next Sunday to see who receives our next Puyallup Praise!

Art Over Recess! 🎨

Mrs. Day, our amazing SEL TOSA, has launched a wonderful opportunity for students to spend one of their Monday recesses creating art and crafts. Students were excited to express their creativity, connect with friends, and showcase their artistic talents. We loved seeing their imagination come to life!

Today, Mr. Chris from Transportation visited our school to review bus safety and behavior expectations with our bus riders. We encourage families to continue the conversation at home by reviewing these important expectations with your child.

Thank you, Mr. Chris, for helping keep our students safe and ready for success on the bus!🚌 💙🤍

Missing something? It might be here! Feel free to stop by and visit our Lost and Found, or comment on this post and we’d be happy to check for you.

As a reminder, we donate our Lost and Found a few times throughout the school year. Labeled items are much easier to return, so please be sure to put your child’s name in jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and other belongings.
