The safety of our Woodland Hills students starts with you.

Every day, over 6,000 of our students rely on school transportation to get to and from school. To help keep them safe, we ask motorists and residents in our 12 communities keep the following safety tips in mind.

* Drivers should slow down when bus caution lights are activated
* Motorists MUST stop when red lights are flashing and the stop sign arm is extended
* It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing
* Drivers should stay alert for students getting on and off of the bus at all times

* Students should stand at least 10 feet - 5 big steps - from the curb while waiting for the bus.
* Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the door opens to get on or off of the bus
* Always walk in front of the bus and the extended arm. Do not walk behind the bus.
* Look both ways before crossing any street. Walk steadily and stay alert for instructions.

Together we can ensure our students arrive to school and back home safely each and every day. We look forward to seeing our students for kindergarten orientation on August 19 and for the first day of school on August 20!
