We don’t formally recognize outstanding members of our community very often at City Council meetings. I think we should do that more often. Granted the bar is pretty high to warrant such an honor, but there’s one such individual worthy of that bestowment at this time. His name is Andy Burch. He began playing the trombone back in the 6th grade before falling in love with the sound of a tuba in high school, which would become his musical instrument of choice. After a few years in college sorting out his future, he realized that becoming a band teacher had all the elements he was looking for in a career. He got his first job out of college at Edgemont Junior High 37 years ago. He never left. Now that he’s retired, we will be honoring him as an outstanding community member at this coming Tuesday’s council meeting at 7:00. As always, the public is welcome at our meetings, so if you or your child were one of over a thousand students taught by Mr. Burch then please stop by and say thanks to your ‘ol junior high band teacher.

💙Our newest eagles had a great time at Camp Edgemont experiencing our 4 Houses 1 School for themselves. Given all the smiles and laughter, I think we’re off to a great start!

We look forward to welcoming back ALL of our students on Wednesday. Doors open at 7:10!!
