💙💛 **OPENING DAY 2026–2027 | ONE TEAM. ONE VISION. ONE EDGEWATER.** 💙💛

Today, we welcomed our incredible Edgewater School District staff back for **Opening Day** as we officially begin the 2026–2027 school year! 🎉📚

Our Opening Day message, **“One Team. One Vision. One Edgewater — Fueling the Journey Together,”** focused on the power of teamwork, purpose, culture, and the positive energy we bring into our schools each day. 🚌⚡

Inspired by Jon Gordon’s *The Energy Bus*, we were reminded that **we are all drivers of the culture we create**. The energy we bring matters. The way we support one another matters. The way we welcome our students matters. And every interaction has the potential to make a difference. ❤️

As we prepare to welcome our students back on **Thursday**, our message is simple: **Let’s make sure every student walks through our doors feeling welcomed, valued, supported, and excited to be part of Edgewater.** 🏫✨

A special thank you to our dedicated staff, administrators, support professionals, and Buildings & Grounds team for all of the hard work that has taken place behind the scenes to prepare our schools for the year ahead. 👏🔨🌱

📵📚 Bell-to-Bell Personal Device Policy

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, New Jersey schools are required to implement “bell-to-bell” policies limiting students’ non-academic use of cell phones and other personal internet-enabled devices during the school day.

📱🚫 The goal is simple: fewer distractions and more opportunities for students to learn, connect, and be present.

Our focus is on creating a school environment where students can:

📚 Focus on learning
🤝 Build meaningful relationships
💬 Connect with their peers
🧠 Stay engaged and present throughout the school day

Dear Edgewater School District Community,

As we close another incredible school year, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our students, families, faculty, staff, Board of Education, and community partners for your unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to our schools.

Together, we celebrated achievements, overcame challenges, and created meaningful opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. The success of our district is a reflection of the strength and spirit of the entire Edgewater community.

I wish each of you a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer filled with time to recharge, explore, and make lasting memories with family and friends.

As we look ahead, we are excited to welcome everyone back for the 2026–2027 school year. Please continue to look for district updates throughout the summer, including opportunities to collaborate and engage with district administration as we work together to build an even brighter future for our students.

Last night's discussion centered on The Anxious Generation and provided families with an opportunity to engage in an important conversation about supporting our children in today's world. 📱🧠👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

A special thank you to Mr. Frega, Mr. McCormick, and Mr. Tramutolo for sharing their insights, experiences, and perspectives throughout the evening. Your contributions helped make the discussion both meaningful and impactful. 👏👏👏
