Texas School of the Arts

Texas School of the Arts At Texas School of the Arts, K-6 students are encouraged to explore creatively, in every subject. Our students love their arts and we love teaching them!

The arts are a vital part to quality education and it is our mission to ensure we provide students with the opportunity to be empowered through arts education. At Texas School of the Arts (TeSA), students in grades kindergarten through six are inspired to grow both academically and artistically. Our school offers an environment where children are encouraged to think creatively, innovate, and colla

borate, paving the path to a promising future in any field they choose. Unique to our curriculum, students are immersed daily in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts classes. Using National Core Arts Standards and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, teachers create individualized curriculum that meets the needs of every student, developing their artistic techniques and performative qualities. Each year TeSA is ranked among the top public schools in Texas. Our low student to teacher ratios ensure each child is engaged and challenged at their individual level. A well-rounded education is the key to success in school and beyond. We strive daily to create a sense of community and belonging in our school and your child belongs here too. Admission to TeSA is by audition-only, ensuring that every student is artistically inclined and every family is committed to the philosophy behind the performance-based nature of an arts education.

Every day in the classroom is a step toward your child’s future. 🎒✨

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we are highlighting the powerful link between consistent attendance and long-term academic and creative success.

When students show up regularly, they do more than keep up with daily lessons. They build confidence, develop steady routines, form strong bonds with peers and teachers, and unlock their potential across both arts and academics. Missing even just two days a month can add up quickly over the school year, making it harder to stay on track.

How you can help your student thrive:
• Set steady routines: Keep bedtime and morning schedules consistent to make getting out the door smoother.
• Prioritize school hours: Try to schedule appointments, errands, and family travel outside of class time whenever possible.
• Reach out early: If your child is struggling with illness, anxiety, or transportation, let us know! We are here to partner with you to find solutions.

Thank you for your commitment to helping our students show up, learn, and shine every single day. Let's make this school year count together! 🏫🎨📚

September is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month. 🧠💙

Hydrocephalus is a complex brain condition characterized by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid. Raising public understanding is vital to fostering strong community support, improving early detection, and advancing critical medical research.

Did you know? All Texas public schools are legally required to observe this month to help build awareness and support for students and families impacted by the condition.

While we may be posting this a day late, the importance of this milestone never fades! August 26th marked Texas Women's Independence Day, the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which officially granted some women the right to vote in the United States.

At the Texas Center for Arts + Academics, we honor the historical trailblazers who fought for equality and celebrate the progress we have made since 1920. Here’s to a future of continued progress and opportunity for all women!

TCA+A is thrilled to celebrate major growth across our schools this year, with TeSA leveling up to a B (up 2 points!) and FWAFA holding strong at a B with a 3-point leap in secondary scores!
Texas public charter schools are evaluated under the exact same A–F standards as traditional public school districts. Overall, public charter schools mirror statewide district trends: the vast majority (over 80%) achieve a C or higher, with more than half earning an A or B.
